Event Description
Broad topics that will be covered in the Open Source and Hacktoberfest section:
- What is Open Source?
- Why Open Source?
- What is the spirit of Open Source?
- What is Hacktoberfest?
- What are the rules for Hacktoberfest 2020?
- What types of PRs should you make?
- What is considered as spam?
- How to tackle big repos?
Broad topics that will be covered in the Workshop section:
- Git and GitHub basics.
- How do you make a PR?
- Why is it a bad practice to make PRs from the master branch?
- How do you tackle the the two related issues problem?
NOTE:
- Please join Our Tech Community (OTC) to receive updates about the event and resources for participating in Hacktoberfest.
- You can optionally watch a Git and GitHub crash course before the event.
